Olive Wood is a closely grained wood with pretty veins, therefore Olive Wood utensils stay smooth and intact for a long time, but any wooden spoons tend to tear at the edges rapidly. It is safe and healthy to use with non-stick cookware and heat-safe to stir items in a pan. It does not scratch porcelain, ceramic, glass, or enamel and is stain and odor resistant.

The following care instructions will maintain your spoon’s natural color and grain. Olive wood is a very strong wood and will last a lifetime if it is well maintained.
Do not place your olive wood item in the dishwasher (hot water or water vapor may damage it) or leave it in standing water. Hand wash only with warm, light soapy water.
Oil on a regular basis with a natural food-safe mineral oil or another food-grade cooking oil, such as coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, and so on. Apply a small amount of oil to the wood using a kitchen towel.
